HOMESICK FOR HEAVEN!

Job 19:25-27 “I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see Him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!”

Have you ever experienced separation from your home and family? Having spent a year’s tour of duty separated from my family, I know the pain of separation for an extended period. Special days such as birthdays or holidays were the hardest.

There were many wonderful experiences during that year, but I always knew that I was there temporarily and it was not home. I was homesick for my family and home. I longed to return to my wife and three precious children.

When I Pastored a church in Oregon I went to a hospital in Bend, Oregon, to visit a member of our church who was a returned missionary. The reports that we had received indicated that she was in very serious condition. I intended to read a few passages of Scripture to her in order to cheer her up.

When I entered her hospital room, it was like an entryway into heaven. This precious saint was so excited about being with her Lord in a few short days that she could hardly contain herself. In the time I spent at her bedside she showered me with praise and hope. I had gone to lift her spirits, but I walked out of that hospital with such a feeling of joy that I almost wished it was me standing on the doorstep of eternity.

I want to encourage all of us to take time and think about being ushered into the presence of our loved ones who have gone on before us and hearing them tell about our new home that will last eternally. I am homesick for heaven!

Blessings dear hearts. Draw near to God today, trust Him completely and be a blessing!

I prophesy, that this year will be a year of joy and not of heaviness and sorrow in the name of Jesus.

GRACE IS NOT FAIR!

Ephesians 2:8-10 “God saved you by His Grace when you believed. (Period)” “And you can’t take credit for this; it is a GIFT from God. Salvation is NOT a Reward for the Good things we have DONE, so none of us can boast about it.

For we are God’s masterpiece. “He has created us ANEW in Christ Jesus, so we can DO the good things HE planned for us long ago.” There is NOTHING … yes NOTHING you can DO!!

Grace is not based on works.

1. We cannot do anything to be Good.
2. We cannot do anything to cover our Bad.
3. We cannot do anything to get rid of our Shame.
4. We cannot do anything to achieve Salvation.
5. We cannot do anything to earn Righteousness.
6. We cannot do anything to Redeem our lives from PAST Sin.
7. We cannot do anything to make it into Heaven; to stay out of Hell.

We can not do anything … but we can RECEIVE a FREE Gift from God when HE offers it to us- Amen!! (John 1:12 … yet to all who RECEIVED Him. “He has created us A NEW in Christ Jesus, so we can DO the good things HE planned for us long ago.”

NOTE – if we DO something for God … HE planned it. ;-) God made you a ……... Human BEING … NOT a Human DOING … do we get it?? Knowing God, BEING in a relationship with God, allows us to DO things for God … the good things come from just BEING in Him- Amen.
